Engaging with Autistic Adults and Caregivers in Early Childhood Autism Research
Autistic people and caregivers should lead the future of autism research. Researchers need to partner with the community to create effective, equitable, and satisfying supports for your children. This website has 3 tools to help researchers and the community collaborate to shape the future of autism research.
These tools were created through a collaboration between autistic adults, caregivers of autistic children, and researchers. They focus on early childhood autism research, but the general ideas apply to research for all ages.
Engagement Strategies for Autism Researchers
This tool will help researchers learn how to collaborate with autistic people and caregivers in inclusive and effective ways.
Guiding Principles and Research Priorities
This tool describes our community partners’ ideas for the future of early childhood autism research.
Autism Research Fundamentals
This tool describes how research is made. It is for community members who want to learn about research.
